UK Foraging Courses with Wild Plant Guide.
Upcoming foraging courses and foraging walks in Norfolk
I spent some of my childhood in Norfolk and recently returned to the North Norfolk coast for work. I explored the prehistoric feeling eco-systems of the changeable saltmarsh that once filtered in further to the main part of Norfolk than they currently do. Even so, the area still has the largest salt marsh/estuary habitat I know of in Britain, and I decided I would have to come back to share this place, this wild but abundant landscape.
The first two North Norfolk foraging courses are both set in the heart of the wildlife-rich Holkam Estate, in Burnham Ovary Staithe and Wells next the sea.
Meeting and finishing at ‘The Hero’ pub in Burnham, and the pub in Wells, we will explore the rich habitat of the salt marshes, estuaries and coastal locations, discovering quite how much wild food is growing all around us, all the time, if you know where to look and what to look for.
Norfolk Foraging Courses offer plant identification tips alongside developing a plant-patterns based approach to learning how to fully engage with all our senses to know our wonderful wild foods!
Our Norfolk foraging courses are a great reminder how your local wild plants and forgotten flavours reconnect you with your ancestral heritage, and how we can constantly re-imagine our food, by reconnecting with edible wild plants
Norfolk Foraging Courses Dates in August and September. Check back soon.
